Little Johnny went with his mom and dad to his grandmother’s house for dinner. When little Johnny received his plate he started eating right away.
“Johnny, wait until we say our prayer,” said his mother.
“I don’t have to,” the boy replied.
“Of course, you do,” his mother insisted. “We say a prayer before eating at our house.”
“That’s our house,” Johnny explained. “But this is Grandma’s house. She KNOWS how to cook!”

A bear, a lion, and a pig meet. I know what your thinking they eat the PIG…NO
The bear says, “If I roar in the forest, the entire forest is shivering with fear.”
The lion says, “If I roar in the jungle, the entire jungle is afraid of me.”
The pig says, “Big deal….I only have to cough, and the entire planet goes into mass panic.”
So is this how we react when the pig coughs? Or do we turn to Psalm 91 for our answer?
Psalm 91 -
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.
If you make the Most High your dwelling—even the LORD, who is my refuge-then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
“Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
I only have one question. Are you listening to coughing pigs or trusting in God’s Word?

Boundaries. Do we need them? Should we expect to adhere to them?
I love the illustration by Joyce Meyer when she talks of boundaries in our life. She places a small wooden fence on the stage where she speaks, and in front of the fence is a stuffed puppy sitting on a rock.
She reminds us that if our neighbor has a dog and he keeps coming to our plush green, freshly mowed yard to take care of his business — it’s not the owner’s fault for letting the dog out; but rather it could be that I just need a fence.
In the same way, if I have a dog and keep her in my back yard, my dog has the freedom to run, play, chase squirrels and enjoy the warm sunshine. However, if I just let my dog run outside the boundary of the fence, she may run into the street and get run over.
In other words, boundaries protect, add wisdom and offer freedom — all at the same time.
I think of Proverbs 4: 20-27 where it says…
“My son, pay attention to my words. Open your ears to what I say. Do not lose sight of these things. Keep them deep within your heart because they are life to those who find them and they heal the whole body.
Guard your heart more than anything else, because the source of your life flows from it. Remove dishonesty from your mouth. Put deceptive speech far away from your lips.
Let your eyes look straight ahead and your sight be focused in front of you. Carefully walk a straight path, and all your ways will be secure.
Do not lean to the right or to the left.
Walk away from evil.”
Today, I’m challenged to walk the straight path, to stay focused on my Lord. To guard my heart with the Word, to not lose sight of those blessings offered by God.
And yes…I’m ready to take a “wisdom walk” with God…no leash required!

If the case actually goes to arguments before U.S. District Judge David Carter, it will be the first time the merits of the dispute have been argued in open court, according to one of the attorneys working on the issue.
In a highly anticipated hearing today before Carter, several motions were heard, including a resolution to long-standing questions about whether attorney Orly Taitz properly served notice on the defendants, which she had.

At the beginning of the school year, one seventh grader was reflecting on his chance at being the 8th grade valedictorian.
He said his dad was valedictorian, his mom was valedictorian, and his sister was also valedictorian.
He paused, leaned back in his chair and said, “Looks like the end of an era!”
So what’s your legacy? Will you stop the great traditions of excellence in your family, or will you begin new eternal, God honoring accomplishments to your journey?
All you have is now–so let’s begin…

Do you ever miss someone?
That was the question posed to me earlier today by a friend. She simply had one of those moments when an action or incident or phrase took her back in time — in her memory. She then asked me the question.
I answered, “Miss?’
“Yes, miss.”
“What do you mean, miss?”
My friend shook her head (as most do) and said somehow by explaining this to me, the question actually lost its meaning.
“You know, when you miss talking to someone who is now gone…?” Her glare and eyes were big and she hoped my understanding kicked in.
And yes it did. “Miss…like how I miss my dad since he went to heaven?”
“Yes…” She sighed.
Suddenly tears flooded my pupils, they ran down my cheeks and I sobbed, as I answered with, “I know what you mean. When my dad died, I’d go to dial the phone to tell him something, only to remember he wasn’t alive.”
Gosh, as soon as I finished that statement, I broke down in a hysterical laugh/cry mode. And my friend simply waited for me to recover.
Then I spoke, “Uhhh…Yes, I guess you’d say that I do miss people. I just didn’t realize how much.”
So got any fond memories? Will anyone miss you when your gone? Will he or she pick up the phone and hope to call you?
Well, each hour, each day, we’re all leaving a mark, a legacy, making an impact–I pray it’s eternal, filled with love and given to moments that will make others cry.

Can you really hear the ocean if you hold a seashell to your ear?
YES!
Wait, that’s if you happen to be standing next to the ocean.
Still though, I remember when I was young, holding a seashell to my ear. I couldn’t believe it… I heard the ocean! And I was in Phoenix, Arizona in the desert!
When I got older, I knew better than to think it was the ocean; I figured it must just be the sound of blood rushing through my ears. Science, unfortunately, throws cold water on my entire experience! You’re not hearing the ocean or even the sound of the blood circulating through your ears. And a coffee cup or drinking glass may produce similar sounds. Whatever you’re holding to your ear is simply amplifying some of the sounds around you. Which ones get magnified, or resonate, depends on the size and shape of what you have against your ear. So if you want to hear the ocean, you have to go to the beach.
This begs the question – do we hear from God? Can we hear his voice? Are you sure?
Is the Holy Spirit speaking to your heart?
